THE BEADS:
Beads of Courage had children, families, and clinicians "Design a Bead" in a challenge celebrating ten themes: life, hope, love, laugh, peace, spirit, joy, courage, strength and inspire.

Ten winning designs were chosen and made into special handcrafted glass beads by talented and generous lampwork bead artists.

Your challenge is to create jewelry with the winning beads!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

1.) Simply purchase a Beads of Courage Design Challenge Bead and create jewelry with the it! Each bead is $25 and supports a child through treatment.

2.) After you purchase a bead and create your jewelry, please post a picture of your jewelry to "Beads of Courage Jewelry Challenge " group photo album.

3.) You may also post your jewelry photo to the JTV JEWEL SCHOOL FRIENDS page. Set the privacy settings for the picture of your jewelry to "public" and upload your photo to the timeline wall.

4.) The jewelry album created for the challenge will be featured by Beads of Courage for the children, families, and clinicians who participated in the "Design a Bead" challenge, the lampwork glass artists who created the beads, and Beads of Courage members and supporters.

Thank you for making healing happen!

************

Beads of Courage is a program that helps children with serious illnesses get through treatment by giving them beads to represent their healing journey. Children who participate in the BOC program receive colored beads that represent milestones, procedures, and acts of bravery. For instance, they get a yellow bead for an overnight hospital stay, a white one for chemotherapy, and a glow-in-the-dark bead for radiation treatment. It's not uncommon for children to amass 10, 20 -- even 35 -- feet of beads!!

BOC is located in USA and Canada and today supports more than 10,000 children in 60 hospitals in the United States, Japan, New Zealand, and Ireland -- all funded exclusively by private donations!!!

Please take a moment to "like" the Beads of Courage Facebook page today.

A special note:
If you wish to participate in this jewelry challenge but are unable to purchase a bead, please message the Jewel School Friends page administrator for help purchasing a bead. We want all persons who wish to participate to be able to do so! You may be able to receive your bead compliments of a Jewel School Friend! :)
